Coming to Mcintyre's • Fearrington Village

Straight from the pen of  Mcintyre's book buyer and mystery guru Pete Mock. Don't miss these events--and say howdy to me!

Brian Panowich gets down and dirty with his superb debut Bull Mountain that pits brother against brother on the Georgia/Florida border. Throw in a vengeful state cop who skews the story in ways that left me in awe and you have a book that stands with the best of Harry Crews, Larry Brown and others.[Brian has been nominated for a boatload of best first awards. He's definitely a new writer to watch!]

THE MAN, Ace Atkins. I’ve been a big fan of his ever since reading his first novels featuring a Blues Musicologist at Tulane. Now he’ll be here July 23rd at 11am with The Innocents, his latest in his series featuring Quinn Colson and tiny Tibbehah County, Mississippi where the line between right and wrong is mostly invisible. Quinn is the avenging knight, coming in to clean up the mess, but as so often is the case, slime sticks. . . leading to another book and more good reading. [Not only is Ace a great writer, he's also an excellent speaker!]
